Frustratingly, the ASF Working group has not met yet this year. There are many
items to discuss including whether the current control zone needs to be
abolished due to infected warthogs and tampans been found in areas
outside of the zone (Northern Cape). {Control zone is based on where
infected tampans are found}. The other important item to discuss is a Draft
ASF management plan which needs to be finalised. SAPPO has been in direct
contact with Director of Animal Health and asked that we need to convene
as soon as possible after Lockdown.

CSF & PRRS
No new cases have been reported.

Raw Pork Imports from PRRS Positive Countries
No developments or changes since last meeting

Pork Export
SAPPO contacted SA agricultural attaché in China recently. He has not heard
any news on the progress of SA request for approval to export pork to China.
We have requested Director of Animal Health to send a communication to
her counterpart in China enquiring if they require any further information.

Vietnam questionnaire is in process of completion (editing) for final approval
before being sent to Vietnamese authorities.
