EDUCATIONIST SHRI VIJAYBASAPPA PATTED PASSES AWAY
Shri Vijaybasappa Pa ed, veteran co-opera ve sector leader, educa onist and KLE Society
th
former vice-president passed away due to illness at his residence here on Friday 26 July 2019. He
was 87 years old. Shri Vijaybasappa Pa ed served as director of KLE Society for 18 years and
elevated to the post of vice-president. He has also rendered excep onal service in the co-opera ve
sector. He joined Belagavi District Central Co-opera ve Bank as a clerk and then became the
general manager and served the bank for four decades. Wife, three sons and daughter survive him.
KLE Society Chairman and Rajya Sabha Member Dr Prabhakar Kore condoled the death of Shri
Vijaybasappa Pa ed. He said Shri Pa ed was an ac ve member of KLE Society. He has immensely
contributed towards the development of the ins tu on and society at large. He was known for his
simplicity. KLE Society, directors and staff condoled the demise and remembered Shri Pa ed’s
service to the society.
A NOBLE SOUL D C KARISHETTI PASSES AWAY
The re red headmaster and KLE Society’s donor Dundappa Channamallappa Karishe alias
Khanpet, a resident of Salahalli village in Ramdurg taluk passed away at KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore

Hospital on 30 January 2019. He was 82 years old. He was proud of KLE Society and has donated
11.38 acres land from Budnur village in Ramdurg to the ins tu on in memory of his father
Channamallapa Dundappa Karishe and also donated Rs. 21 lakh as deposit in memory of his
mother, Gangavva Chanamallapa Karishe . Dundappa has served as a primary school teacher at
Yarga and Sopadla and later as headmaster. Many of his students have reached the pinnacle of
success now. KLE Society Chairman Prabhakar Kore and management members condoled Dundappa
Karishe ’s death.
KOLHAPUR WOMAN DONATES SKIN
Awareness about Skin dona on is gradually improving in the part of North Karnataka, South
Maharashtra and Goa. This donated skin can be used for saving the lives of burn vic ms. To fulfil the
last wishes of the deceased, family members volunteered to donate skin to the KLES Rotary Skin Bank
at KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital and MRC Belagavi. Mr Purusho am Pawar, Founder, Federa on of
Organ & Body dona on, Mumbai contacted to Dr Rajesh Powar, Director, KLES Rotary Skin Bank. With
this informa on immediately a team of doctors from KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital and MRC
Belagavi lead by Dr Sagar Katkar, with Dr Deepak K. and Mr Sadanand Bhajantri le from Belagavi and
rushed to Kolhapur. Within 3 hours of the informa on, the en re process of the team reaching
Kolhapur from Belagavi and harves ng the Donor skin completed. The KLES Rotary Skin Bank
drama cally appreciates the dona on of Smt. Mandakini Suresh Bhumkar and also expresses its
gra tude to the deceased souls and family members for this noble gesture.
ORGAN DONATION BY KHANAPUR FAMILY MEMBERS
Mr Santosh Madar, 25 years youth from a small hamlet Gastolli of Khanapur taluk suffered a severe head injury due to
two-wheeler accident and admi ed to Neuro Surgery Unit of the KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital, Belagavi. Mr Santosh had
sustained irreversible damage to his brain, where surgical and other modes of medical management were not possible. On
clinical examina on, he was found to be brain dead. The elder brother Ravi Madar and family members consented for organ
dona on. His heart, liver and kidneys could not be harvested due to technical reasons however, a er his death family
members donated eyes and skin to the KLES Hospital.
