KLE HOSPITAL DIABETES CENTRE BAGS THE “SWEET AWARD”

KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital Diabetes Centre has been conferred
with pres gious “Sweet Award” in Germany in recogni on of its
excellence in providing treatment in the field of paediatric diabetes.
The award was presented to the Diabetes Centre at a programme
organised by the Interna onal Society for Paediatric and Adolescent
Diabetes, Interna onal Diabetes Federa on held at Hanover in Germany.
‘Sweet’, an organisa on working for be er control in paediatric and
adolescent diabetes, bestows the award upon centres providing best
quality treatment and care in the field of diabetes care. The award
presented to Paediatric Diabetologist Dr (Mrs) Sujata M Jali of the
Diabetes Centre in the presence of Diabetologist and Dr M V Jali who also
heads the hospital as its Medical Director.
The centre was considered for ‘Sweet Best Diabetes Centre’ award for its best prac ces in maintaining the records of
Paediatric Diabetes pa ents, quality service, paramedical staff, die cian, counsellors, involving social workers and for its
ac vi es in spreading awareness among diabetes.

on 15 June 2019. Dr M V Jali, Medical Director of the Hospital
& Dr Richard Saldanha, Chief of Cardio-thoracic & Vascular
Surgery felicitated by members of the Rotary Club. Smoking,
sedentary lifestyle, poor management of Hypertension,
uncontrolled Diabetes, stress and hereditary have emerged as
the primary cause for escala on in cardiac disease said, Dr
Richard Saldanha. He called on people to lead a posi ve-
healthy lifestyle, stay away from junk food, daily walking,
exercise, yoga and medita on should be part of daily rou ne. He also lamented that a large number of children are vic ms of
congenital cardiac disease. The team of Consultants of our hospital have vast experience and exper se to manage any
complex heart cases said, Dr Saldanha. Dr M V Jali, Medical Director of the Hospital, said the first successful heart transplant
in the north Karnataka performed in KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital, Belagavi. The Hospital has a state-of-the-art facility
and team of expert transplant surgeons to perform Kidney, Liver &
Heart Transplant in the hospital. He also said KLE Society and Rotary
Club share an in mate rela on and KLERotary Skin Bank is an
outcome of this close rela onship. Free ECG & Echo test performed
to needy p ents. Dr Veeresh Manvi, Dr Prasad. M R, Dr Vishwanth,
Dr Nishit Udapi, Dr Jabbar and Dr Chandrakant Kore examined over
200 pa ents in the camp. Rotarians Dr Vasudev Reddy, Sri Kakubal
Krishnamurthy, Sri Kolagad Deepak along Rtn.Ishwar was the
cri cal persons in making this camp to go a successful way. This
would help in bridging the free healthcare for the deserved sick
pa ents referred by the rotary club of Hosapete to seek medical
care at our KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore Charitable Hospital in Belagavi.
