Part III: Chapter 6 ‐ Extraordinary Leadership

red employee or conduct a conflict discussion, you must
proceed differently than with the relaxed and tolerant
employee who tends to conform. If a red employee does not
agree with something, he or she will express this clearly. It is
important to always remain objective, avoid provocations and
                                     work with valid arguments.

From the last example, you can see how relevant it is to have a match.

As I have already said, you as a manager have a duty and a
responsibility to behave in a way that is different from your own
personality. But we all cannot completely slip out of our skin and
simply shed our basic personality imprint just because the type of
person we are talking to demands it. If it does not fit with you and you
are not able, as mentioned above, to remain factual, to avoid
provocations and to work with valid arguments, the leadership
                               success is endangered.

A match of the personality structure should be present.
About the required degree of the match is decided by the
                                    concrete the concrete general conditions.
