Animal Identification Registration and Traceability (AIRT)

The 2 projects initiated earlier in the year as still running: -

1. Good progress has been made in getting valid Animal Identification
Certificates for our members
2. Development of shipping APP is advanced. Initial testing went well and
we are in stage of fine tuning.

SAPPO (Pork 360) is in consultation with Consumer Goods Council as to how
best to implement the GS1 based traceability system throughout the value
chain. The idea is to keep it as simple as possible initially.

Pork 360

Farm Accreditation audits have commenced – auditors have been allocated
to all farms registered with Pork 360.
5 new farms have been added during 2020.

We congratulate Malu processing plant on being accredited, the only plant
accredited currently. Eskort processing was previously accredited (2017) as a
pilot project to test our standards, but their accreditation has since lapsed.
