1-The leaves of the electroscope do not diverge
so the tested object is not charged
2- The leaves of the electroscope diverge (spread)
Then the tested object is charged.
Charging by Contact: The process of charging an uncharged
object by its contact with a charged object.
2- To determine the type of the charge on a charged object:
Procedures:
(1) Charge the electroscope with a certain electric charge, for example, a
positive charge.
(2) Bring the charge of the tested object close to the electroscope disc
without touching it.
