3 EXECUTING PHASE
DAILY TRADE SUPERVISION COORDINATION MEETINGS
Each day, prior to commencing production activities, a coordination meeting should take place with all trade
supervisors and/or lead foremen to outline the work tasks for the day. Work location crews can be illustrated
on a communication board to identify choke-points, conflicts and areas to perform observations.
SQ lead professionals on the project should be active participants in this daily effort
WORK IMPLEMENTATION PLAN (WIP) / SAFE WORK PLAN (SWP)
The current Work Implementation Plan (WIP) process has proven effective in the planning/expectations of critical
scopes of work. Though a solid document, it should be enhanced to provide greater detail into the SQ aspects or
requirements in performing the effort. The identification of material suppliers, application/installation references,
testing/verification requirements, frequency of observations, acceptance and safe execution of the work.
Trade partners responsible for the task/scope should submit their plans for review prior to executing the work.
RISK-BASED PERMIT PROCESSES
A formal Permit to Work process will be developed with emphasis on high hazard (safety) and/or high
exposure (quality) tasks. These permits will be incorporated as part of the Daily Work Plans to ensure
awareness/visibility throughout the project. Permits may include: work from heights, energy isolation,
MEWP, high pressure testing, and specialized building elements identified in the Quality DSI.
SITE SAFETY / QUALITY COMMITTEES
In conjunction with the trade partner, SQ staffing requirements outlined above, both safety and
quality committees should be implemented among those assigned to the project. These committees
will be charged with frequent sessions which will include the review of SQ observation data, non-
confirming issues and/or open issues, emerging trends, upcoming work activities and similar.
The Haskell designated Lead SQ Coordinators will facilitate these sessions with summaries
developed as part of the project documentation/communications.
EMS / FIRE DRILLS
At every project engagement has the opportunity to positively impact the community we serve. One potential area to
explore is the establishment of relationships with local EMS/Fire agencies. Where we have done this, local agencies were
able to coordinate mock-rescues, train and learn more of the potential risks that may emerge on the projects we construct.
