4/21/25, 10:40 AM UAE Launches Strategic Talent Scouting Partnerships - Hammer Mindset
permeates the broader sports ecosystem, creating a ripple effect of capacity-building and professional
development.
Player Maker’s Multisport Scouting Mandate
While Precision Football focuses on football, Player Maker will lead talent identification in seven other key
sports. A global powerhouse in sports technology and performance evaluation, Player Maker has earned
acclaim for its role in developing Olympic champions, national-level athletes, and grassroots talents. Steve
Barrett, VP of Sports Performance at Player Maker, emphasized that the company is excited to partner with
the UAE Ministry of Sports and contribute meaningfully to its ambitious talent identification vision.
Player Maker’s methodology encompasses a mix of wearable technologies, biomechanical analytics, and
sport-specific talent ID programs. Their solutions are uniquely tailored to capture data in real-time, making it
easier for scouts and coaches to assess an athlete’s physical aptitude, skill level, and performance potential
with high precision. With this partnership, Player Maker will evaluate young athletes in sports such as
basketball, athletics, volleyball, handball, badminton, swimming, and table tennis.
To ensure the success of this endeavor, Player Maker plans to deploy a multi-disciplinary team comprising
scouts, national team coaches, and performance analysts. Their collaborative process will enable the Ministry
to receive expert insights backed by both quantitative and qualitative data, ultimately aiding in well-informed
talent selection decisions.
Pilot Program during Game Finals
These groundbreaking partnerships are being piloted during the upcoming finals of the UAE School Games
and UAE University Games. As these competitions reach their climax, a team of expert scouts from both
Precision Football and Player Maker will be on ground, actively evaluating participants across various
disciplines. This hands-on involvement is designed not just to test the efficacy of the partnerships, but also to
generate a live case study of what a modern, data-driven scouting process looks like in action.
Each athlete participating in the finals will have the opportunity to be assessed through both traditional
scouting methods and advanced technologies. Video recordings of matches and events, wearable
performance sensors, and post-game analytics will form the basis for talent evaluations. The Ministry
believes this blended methodology ensures a fair and comprehensive review of every athlete’s capabilities.
Moreover, the presence of world-class experts during these finals adds a layer of seriousness and
professionalism to the entire event, offering students a rare opportunity to be seen and evaluated by some of
the most qualified eyes in global sports.
Educational Workshops to Build Local Capacity
One of the distinguishing features of these partnerships is the emphasis placed on education and local
knowledge transfer. Both Precision Football and Player Maker are committed to running a series of bespoke
educational workshops and training modules before the start of the School Games finals. These sessions are
designed to elevate the skillsets of local scouts, coaches, and sports administrators, helping them stay up-to-
date with the latest advancements in athlete identification and performance monitoring.
