We appreciate the great work done by the federation, to provide the best conditions for athletes
by developing local tournaments, and creating strong competition that helps secure the best
preparation for players participating in various international tournaments.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Hasher Al Maktoum said: “The launch of priority sports represents a
qualitative step towards upgrading the sports sector in the UAE by strengthening our Olympic
presence, and we are working in the Federation to achieve the best commitment to government
directions and the Sports Sector Strategy 2032, which aims to find the best ways to prepare a
generation of future champions.” .
He added: We are looking forward with the authority to expand the base of playing the game,
and to attract more talents and develop them physically and mentally, to prepare a generation
capable of consolidating our presence in international forums, and the partnership with the
Sports Federation of school and university education institutions provides us with an opportunity
to enhance cooperation with educational sector institutions to further spread the game. among
students to achieve the desired goals.
During the meeting, the forms addressed to the priority sports federations were presented,
which include accurate details of the work mechanism within the federation, distinguished
talents in each age group and plans for their development. One of the priority sports federations
and its adoption as a roadmap for achieving Olympic achievements.
The meeting discussed the operational and technical requirements of the federation, studying
the reality of the infrastructure and facilities available in shooting sports, and ways to develop
them in cooperation with the strategic partners represented by the Sports Coordinating Council,
in addition to finding the best ways to cooperate with clubs to achieve the goals set in the
development of athletes by adhering to advanced training programs.
Last June, the Sports Coordinating Council announced the priority sports of shooting, judo,
fencing, archery, and athletics, after a comprehensive study that dealt with the reality of sports
and talents in the UAE and opportunities to achieve Olympic achievements in it.
