            Common side effects of the Keto Diet


               •  Ketoacidosis - caused by uncontrolled hyperglycemia,
                 metabolic acidosis, and increased ketone body levels in the
                 blood.

               •  Keto flu - slight discomfort including fatigue, headache,
                 nausea, cramps, etc.

               •  Cramps

               •  Constipation

               •  Heart Palpitations

               •  Reduced physical performance

               •  Others - hair loss, increased cholesterol. Gallstones,
                 indigestion, keto ras

            Most people who experience weight loss on the Keto Diet will end up
            gaining the weight back.

            Two reasons for this include:

            1. Initial weight loss was actually water loss

            2. Initial weight loss was actually due to caloric restriction

            There have been studies to show a ketogenic diet has been effective
            in endurance athletes and mitochondrial biogenesis, but those
            applications require specific applications of the diet for certain periods
            of time. Also, this application of the keto diet is most effective in
            higher level or elite athletes.
