Amish Trip Around the World with Center Medallion 1961 stitched into a corner heart with the quilting
thread,Purchased from Renton, WA, antique shop. 89"x104" Fabric: Cotton. Batting: Medium weight. Back-
ing: Dark blue cotton. Edge: Separate dark blue ¾" wide. Piecing: By machine. Quilting: By hand in black,
straight lines through the center of diamonds in the medallions; 4-petaled compass roses within the center
green border; 1" grid on the sides and in purple corners; compass stars within double lines of diamonds
in outer green border; feathered wreaths in outer dark borders, filled with straight lines toward the outer
edge 2" apart, 8 stitches to the inch. Condition: Very good to excellent. I find one small spot of fading in one
small maroon square. A few spots on the back look like soap. Comment: The 1961 date says it could have
been made for the commercial market; however, I was aware of the market taking off only in the 1980s.
Price reflects the seller’s claim of its being old age.
