Circus Appliqué 1930s. Antique shop purchase in Seattle area around 1990. 37½"x48½" Fabric: Cotton.
Batting: Light cotton. Backing: Cotton muslin. Edge: Back is brought ¼" to the front and caught by hand.
Piecing: Machine. Quilting: In large Xs in border pieces; inside the edge of each motif. Six stitches per inch.
Condition: Very good. Lavender patches above the cat in the lower right have faded. Comment: It’s small but
a great deco-era period piece.
