Primitive Rose Appliqué in Wool 1920s. Newport, OR antique store. Purchased prior to 2003. 43½"x74" Fabric:
Wool suit material. Batting: Cotton. Backing: Wool suit material, pieced similarly to the top. Edge: Knife
edge. Piecing: By machine. Quilting: Tied. Condition: Good. Comment: To me, the attraction of this piece is
the incongruous rose in a field of men’s wool suit leftovers. The long, narrow size is sometimes called a
               "handyman’s quilt."
