Appliquéd Tulips Appliqué fabrics are 1930s. Assembly in the green sashes could be 1930-1950s. This green
is modern. Purchased at Renton, WA prior to 2003. 102"x113" Fabric: Cotton. Batting: Light weight cotton.
Backing: Cotton, same green as top. Edge: Matching green tape machined to the back and stitched by hand
to the front. Piecing: Appliqué by hand, piecing by machine. Quilting: By hand in elaborate plumes in the
green sashes, around the flowers within the boxes, and in a concentric box within the box in the center of
each motif. Condition: Very good. Colors of the top are bright and unfaded. The back shows some color
change from washing. Comment: All the greens are the same color, but it is a "one way" fabric that changes
color depending on the direction from which one looks at it.
