Whig Rose Wreath Appliqué with Branches and Berries 1930s (?) The pattern is very old, but light colors got
popular after the Victorian era, and the green seems to be a stable color, unlike earlier greens. eBay pur-
chase 2011. 74½"x84" Fabric: Cotton. Batting: Cotton. Backing: Cotton muslin. Edge: A white tape ¾" wide
on each side, top stitched by machine. Piecing: Appliqué by hand; blocks joined by machine. Quilting: By
hand, 5-6 stitches per inch. In the border, quilting outlines the motif and the field is filled in with circles.
The wreaths are outlined and filled with a grid ¾" on the side. The white blocks have wreaths. Condition:
Very good. The edge is discoloring.
