2013 from Alabama. 63"x88" Fabric: Mostly cotton plus necktie silks. Batting: Foundation fabric. Backing:
Cotton print. Edge: Backing is brought to the front 1" and caught by hand. Piecing: By hand. Quilting:
Foundation pieced. Condition: Very good to excellent. Comment: Rare. The pine burr is the state quilt of
Alabama. Technique: Take a square of fabric and fold it on the diagonal to make a triangle. Fold the tri-
angle in half on a line from the point to the hypotenuse so all raw edges are on just one side. Baste to a
foundation, stitching across the hypotenuse and pointing the fold of the triangle toward the center.
