46th Annual Leadership Conference

National Area One Director, Lady Harnell Williams, presided over the 46th Area One Leadership Conference March 2, 2017
through March 5, 2017, at the Baton Rouge Hilton Capitol Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where Nonpareil, the hostess
chapter, the Southeast Cluster Chapters which include Beaumont, Jasper County, Lake Charles, New Orleans, Oran’Je and
Port Arthur, as well as the Area I Executive Board Lassiez Les Bon Temp Roulet with energy, enthusiasm and excitement!
The 46th Area I Leadership Conference theme, Top Ladies of Distinction and Top Teens of America: Engaging in the Enhancement of
Programs that Invest in the Community through Volunteer Service, was showcased in numerous ways throughout the conference. The
national theme Investing in V.A.L.U.E.S. that Support, Enhance and Sustain, and was evidenced through the activities held during
the conference.

Lady Annie Mouton, Area I Induction Chair along with Lady Rhonda Harris, Area I Membership Chair inducted four new
Ladies into Top Ladies of Distinction from the Nonpareil Chapter. They were: Lady Audrey Drake, Lady Errin Gaines, Lady
Clonise Stewart, and Lady LaEttica Wilkinson-Joseph.

Area I Chaplain, Lady Valencia Edner, conducted the memorial service for the Ladies, Lords and Teens listed as well as all
other members of the TLOD family who transitioned from this life to a life with the Lord. It is with deep sympathy that
Area I memorialized Founder Lady LaVerne Reese Madlock, Second National President, Rose City Chapter, Northeast Clus-
ter, Seventh National Area I Director Lady Orvis Austin, Capital City Chapter, West Cluster and Lady Rita Franks-Bell,
Composer-TLOD Prayer, Houston Chapter, Southwest Cluster.

Nonpareil and the Southeast Cluster chapters welcomed the Ladies, Lords and Teens Thursday, March 2, 2017, to its Let the
Good Times Roll (Lassiez Les Bon Temps Roulett) hostess night event. Conference attendees enjoyed Zydeco, rhythm and
blues, hip hop, Old School and rap music as they dined on gumbo, seafood and delectable Louisiana cuisine.

The joint opening plenary session featured the introduction of the Area I TLOD and TTA Officers, National President, Na-
tional Officers, Past National Presidents, and Past National Area Directors, in which National Area I Director, Lady Harnell-
Williams, National TLOD President, Lady Drema Lee Woldma,n and Conference Chair, Lady Mary Wilkinson, and Area I
TTA President Teen Josef Sorrells, greeted the Ladies, Lords and Teens.
