Sugar Valley Chapter Collaborates with City of Houston
for Free Cervical and Breast Cancer Screening
Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., Sugar Valley Chapter, collaborated with Community
Partnership, Status of Women, Senior Citizens, Top Teens and the City of Houston on
August 12th, 2017 to make a huge impact on the health and well-being of the female
population in the Houston community. The City of Houston provided free Cervical and
Breast Cancer screening for women age 21-64 and HPV vaccines for young ladies ages 9-
18. Sugar Valley and the City of Houston “See, Test and Treat” Program partnered to
help women and young ladies remove obstacles that keeps many of them from getting
preventative care. Each health service provided allowed response to the unique needs of
the female community. Additional services that were provided included free eye exams,
health education resources and free backpacks for school age children.
Sugar Valley Ladies and Top Teens volunteered their time on August 10th, 2017 to pack
female toiletries and school supplies. On the day of the event, Top Ladies volunteered
with registration, provided information, passed out flyers, worked in health education
resource area, and food area. Sugar Valley Ladies who volunteered include: Lady Lillie
Lacy, Lady Lillie Etienne, Lady Ruth Buffington, Lady Audrey Seals, Lady Sharlett
Kauffin, Lady Susan Harris, Lady Janice Chilton, Lady Yolanda Foster, Lady Taunja
Fisher, Lady Yolanda Murdock-Wiltz, Lady Sheri Cole, Lady Joyce Warner and Lady
Tracy Warner and Sugar Valley Top Teens. Chapter President is Lady Lillie Lacy.
