family of the late Lady Marie T. Campbell. Lady Marie Campbell organized Area II
in 1975, serving as the first Area II Director. The land, located at 16 Pennington
Avenue is in the historic neighborhood of the Battle of Monument in Trenton,
New Jersey. Lady Campbell’s daughter, Lady Joyce Kersey, presented the land to
Area II’s Trenton Chapter – the oldest chapter in Area II -- for its Community

Beautification project. In addition, the Area II Marie T. Campbell Endowment was
capitalized and recognition was given at the Franchell Boswell meeting during
Parliamen-Top in 2015.

Not only has Area II been the recipient of donations, but it also has been at the

forefront of donating to various organizations and causes that are crucial to the
African American museum African-American experience. Last year Area II
became a charter member of the new National Museum of African American
History and Culture, donating $500 to the only national museum devoted
exclusively to the documentation of
African American life, history, and
culture.

Area II also continues its steadfast Area II became a charter member of the new

Breakfast at its 34th Annual Area II
Leadership Conference in Wilmington,

Delaware. Her message was not only
about disparities, but also about how such
disparities can be eliminated by
participating in clinical trials.

In a “clap” heard ‘round social media, Area II kicked off its first Thunderclap
campaign on April 22 in an effort to raise awareness about sickle cell disease.
