Focus on Programming
I am excited to share how the Programmatic Thrusts teams achieved overall success with the set
goals of a unified program, as we strived to make the world a better place “INVESTING in V.A.L.U.E.S.
that Support, Enhance, and Sustain”. We truly invested in our communities, as well as ourselves,
through 1) Volunteer service; 2) Advocacy and accountability; 3) Leadership development and
succession planning; 4) Unity and collaboration; 5) Engagement and empowerment; and 6) Social
responsibility and sisterly concern. A total of 78 chapter report books were submitted reflecting the
“Investing V.A.L.U.E.S”.
We reached down deep as we progressively moved the national programs. We really worked and
expanded our programmatic purpose, pursued and renewed our strategic partnerships on the local,
area, and national level, simultaneously, as we globally enhanced the membership participation of all
of our programs and projects. We empowered the members and shared our talents, as we promoted
team oriented leadership.
Our work consistently measured our goals for change, and we identified stakeholders within each
chapter and area. We were very clear and consistent with everyone regarding the expectations of
the Ladies, Top Teens, and the chapters as a whole. We charged each member to fully participate
and we made the connection from national to area to local, and we followed the program and
activities outlined in the National Program Resource Guide. Chapters are collaborating, connecting,
and creating opportunities; intentionally placing our Top Teens on the forefront and in the spotlight.
Chapters submitted their “5 STAR PROGRAM” which was their “BEST PROGRAM”. Six
categories were made available and the chapters knocked it out of the park with their
innovative and creative goals and ideals with implementation of the following:
(1) TOP TEENS OF AMERICA,
(2) STATUS OF WOMEN,
(3) SENIOR CITIZENS,
(4) COMMUNITY BEAUTIFICATION,
(5) COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS and/or
(6) “TOTAL PROGRAM”
