                     getting detailed report and same sending to DRM.
                    S&T  Cable  route  marking    indicators  provision  for  easy  identification  of
                     cables route.
                    Staff sensitized to ensure Horizontal clearances in station yard & Horizontal
                     clearances at other  than station yards as per SOD  to avoid door hitting
                     cases.
                    Proper isolation at RE area by provision of rod and rope insulation at Non-
                     interlocked LC gates by TrD.
             E.  Steps Taken  to Prevent Fire Accidents: Intensive safety   checks

                 are being  conducted on aspects such as:

               •    Intensive publicity campaigns to prevent the travelling public from carriage
                    of inflammable goods are regularly undertaken.
               •    Checks  for  prevention  of  carrying  explosives,  dangerous  inflammable
                    articles,  crackers,  gas  cylinders,  dry  grass  leaves,  acids,  corrosive
                    substances by passengers, or booked as parcels.
               •    Checks  on  safety  provisions  in  gas  operated  cooking  arrangements  in
                    pantry car.
               •    Checks  on  unauthorized  hawkers  and  vendors  using  Sigris  and  Stoves  on
                    trains.
               •    Provision  of  fire  extinguishers  in  Locos,  SLRs,  Pantry  cars  and AC  Coaches
                    and their working condition..
               •    Joint  surprise  checks  at  stations  of  luggage  and  parcels  for  inflammable
                    material  by  Railway  officials  in  co-ordination  with  GRP  and  RPF  and
                    Commercial staff.
               •    Alertness on the part of station staff, cabin staff, gateman and running staff
                    for exchanging ‘all right’ signals for safe passage of trains.
               •    Provision  of  safety  hammers  in  AC  coaches  for  breaking  glass  during
                    emergencies.
               •    Skits,  play-lets  and  exhibition  of  audio-visual  CDs  using  outdoor  LCD
                    projectors  on  hazards  of  carrying  inflammable  articles  and  smoking  are
                    displayed / aired in local TV channels.
               •    Guard-cum-Brake  Van  and  AC  coaches  in  all  trains  are  provided  with
                    portable fire extinguishers to cater for emergencies due to fire accidents.
               •    Improved  materials  for  electrical  fittings  and  fixtures  such  as  MCB,  light
                    fittings, terminal boards, connectors etc. are being used progressively
               •    Publicity in all stations through CCTV and frequent announcement through
                    PA system on hazards of carriage of inflammable articles.
               •    Proper maintenance and upkeep of electrical devices, boilers, refrigerator,
                    chimneys, wiring systems and junction boxes etc.,in pantry cars.
               •    Periodical  checking  of  availability  of  CBC  keys  with  all  LPs,  Guards,
                    Travelling C&W staff and pantry cars.
