LITERACY- NUMERACY PROGRAM
This program focuses on providing students and instructional leaders with the
fundamental knowledge and pedagogical skills in literacy and numeracy. It also aims to
establish and manage a school-based mentoring/learning partnership program as a
means of providing teachers and mentees with ongoing professional development
opportunities.
In support to the literacy and numeracy program of the DepEd, the
implementation of the reading and numeracy program in Luna National High School is
intensified. With the help of the parents and other stakeholders, rewards are given to
the participants of this project. Partners of this program are Family Church of Luna,
DENR-EMB- RO1, Paperus Merchandise.
The activities took place in both the school and the community, with stakeholders
invited to participate fully. All of these programs were easily introduced and carried out
because stakeholders communicated effectively with the school.
The key implementers and collaborators of the activities were the officers of each
organization and the school administration supported by the stakeholders. The teachers
and students also partake in this collaboration.
Activities were implemented through a meeting by the School Governance
Council and other organizations and stakeholders. In this meeting, a quorum is
observed which is 50% plus one. All agenda of the meeting are carefully written in the
minutes by the secretary. When a decision is finalized, a resolution is prepared by the
SGC officers and then affix their signatures. Once the resolution is available, it is
cascaded among the members of the SGC and other organization for proper
dissemination.
