He reluctantly left and we were finally, really alone.
This definitely was not a typical apology bouquet,
but it was kind of thoughtful. Pita then told me it was
from his family’s garden and that they had the best
kumara crop in the region.
I graciously promised to plant his thoughtful gift.
Inviting him to come into the kitchen, we sat down
for a cup of tea, which had by now become one of my
favorite afternoon traditions. For some reason the tea
seemed exceptionally yummy; I had actually never been
a big fan of it in the past.
Pita let me know that he had second thoughts about
me after our last encounter.
