Mistified
Chapter 8
A New Beginning
Things were happening so fast. My life seemed to
be on speed dial. It was almost two weeks since my
arrival and it was time for me to touch base with my
cousin Anne-Marie.
It worked out perfectly because I had arranged to
meet Pita at a Whanganui coffee shop that had internet
access so I would be able to email her.
The coffee shop was really sweet. There was a
Maori musician nestled in the corner singing a beautiful
song as I walked in. The music reminded me of Aroha,
as she was always singing Maori songs around the
manor. I really loved the sound of the Maori language
and was even learning a few words myself.
Working my way towards the table, I noticed that
Pita had an odd look on his face. He didn’t appear to
like the song and I was a bit confused as it sounded
really beautiful to me. Not being shy, I asked him about
his odd expression.
He hesitated and then told me about visions he had
the morning of the explosion and then just before he
saw me walk in.
