BJP legisla ve party in Rajasthan meets Tuesday,
new CM likely to be announced
On Tuesday, the recently elected BJP MLAs in Rajasthan will
convene in Jaipur to formally select the next chief minister of
the state, according to party leaders. The legislative party
meeting, where the BJP's central leadership is anticipated to
reveal its choice for the post, aims to bring an end to days of
speculation following the party's victory in the assembly
election.
Following the declaration of results from the November 25
polls in Rajasthan on December 3, BJP MLA Jogeshwar Garg
disclosed that the observers designated for the legislative
party meeting would arrive in Jaipur on Tuesday. They are
scheduled to engage in one-on-one discussions with the MLAs in the morning, followed by a formal meeting
after lunch during which the MLAs will decide on the legislative party leader or the CM-designate.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, along with Saroj Pandey and Vinod Tawde, has been appointed as
observers by the party. MLA Kirodi Lal Meena clarified that the MLAs have been informed about the
legislature party meeting. In response to inquiries about the MLAs who visited former Chief Minister
Vasundhara Raje at her home on Monday, Meena stated that 17 MLAs have also met him post-results,
emphasizing that such interactions should not be interpreted as lobbying.
