Not so difficult to decipher ha! Penny had the gumption to get in their face, “Why were you
searching for me? Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” Saying something like
this warranted soap in the mouth and a sore behind!
Penny should have known better than to embarrass the parents like this. And about being in
his father’s house, the boy was 12, which other home did the boy know? Yeah! He was
supposed to be at home mowing the lawn and weeding the garden.
Mommy and daddy were clearly at odds with the boy. No words to say. The boy wasn’t
himself. Must have been sleep depraved and hallucinating from lack of nutrients. They just
wanted Penny back with them.
So they took the boy home and this time he learned to say “yes sir” to daddy and “yes
ma’am” to mommy. Parents are like that. Minor indiscretion forgiven. Can we just go back to
the way things were? Penny learned his lesson.
Never argue with parents if you know what’s best for you. Children should learn to
autocorrect their behavior if only to make daddy and mommy proud. So the parents treasured
Penny and he grew up in wisdom and stature and in favour with God and men.
