schooling.

5. Subject, course, branch of knowledge, area, field, specialty.
A disciple follows the teachings of Christ. Scripture tells us that we must not rest on hearing
the Word and do nothing else, for this would be tantamount to self deception.
Scripture also tells us that if one knows what to do and does nothing, he has sinned. Faith must
be accompanied by works but not the works with the dead people faces nor the works of the
flesh but good works.
The book of Jn. 8:31-32 says, to the Jews who had believes in him, Jesus said, "If you hold to
my teaching, you are my really my disciples. Then you will know the truth (and not that which
men purport to know) and the truth will set you free”
Jesus is the Truth!
4. He must be commissioned:
A disciple is commissioned in two areas:-
a. To the Father's harvest field (Matt. 9:36-38)
He must have compassion for the harassed and the helpless in society.
He must be active in the harvest field for the work is plentiful.
He must pray to the lord of the harvest to supply workers who are ready to work hard for the
bounty is hefty but the workers are coming in short.
b. World evangelism:
This is the second commission of a disciple and which is found in the book of Matthew
28:19-21:-
He must make disciples of the nations. His longing must be that of spreading the gospel to all
the nations. Scripture says, how beautiful are feet of those who spread the gospel and for this
reason, Jesus washed the disciples' feet.
He must baptize them in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Breath. A disciple
must have a heart for all humanity, loving them as Christ loved us and died for us (Jn.
13:34-35)
Christ's disciples must love one another as he loved them, by this all men will know that they
are 100% followers of Christ.
5. A disciple must desire excellence (Jn. 15:7-17)
