L ES S ON TI ME CONNECTI VES

Connectives are known as words or phrases that function to make
transitions or connect one sentence to the next sentence. Connectives can
be conjunctions, prepositions, or adverbs.
Conjunctions are useful for making existing ideas flow smoothly and can
also improve the structure of the story. Meanwhile, time connectives or time
conjunctions are words used to show the chronology of events.
Here are some time connectives that you can use in making English
sentences, such as before, then, afterwards, after, when, meanwhile, next,
after that, in the meantime, first, before that, at last, second, until, finally,
third, soon.
Examples:
When you come to my house, I will wake up.
Before you go, please close the door.
After I go home, I will clean this room.
We will do this task until we finish.
The bike ride was hard, but eventually John finished.
Next, sprinkle the seasoning over the strips of sweet potato.
Time connectives help to provide a logical and coherent structure to
narratives, explanations, and descriptions by establishing the order and
timing of events. They enable readers or listeners to understand the
temporal relationships between different pieces of information.
