vii) COMMISSIONING OF SCREW AIR COMPRESSORs

Two nos. of M/s Frank Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Coimbatore make Screw

Air Compressors, model no. Mute 20/13/Base, supplied by M/s Shansen
Enterprises, Coimbatore were procured under M&P programme. Each

compressor has maximum working pressure of 13kg/cm and sound
                                                                                                   2
levels up to 75dB@1meter. Till date shed was using compressed air

generated by Reciprocating (piston) type compressors to
pneumatically operated hand held tools used in M6 section and for

carrying out minor schedules in inspection bays. Screw air
compressors are an energy efficient option as they generate less heat

compared to normal air compressors due to which less water is
created during air compression, withstand significant temperature

swings, these compressors have built in noise dampening technology
hence operate quietly and produce no noise during operation
thereby reducing the sound pollution in the shed premises. Rotary

screw air compressors have less parts requiring regular maintenance
thereby making maintenance a little easier.
