20 Questions about PowerPoint in the Virtual Classroom
Q 17
I rarely use the Whiteboard functionality in a web conference platform. Instead, I format a slide within my
existing slide deck. I can create a grid with questions, or assign different slots to people and have them type text
onto that whiteboard slide.
A fun way to complete a fast poll is to prepare a slide with the question and responses
right on the slide. Then have people point to their preferred response. If you are
introducing several steps in a process, you might have people put the steps in the right
order by numbering a list. Or, perhaps you want to review a software application to see
if they can recall what steps to follow or what buttons to push. They can stamp right on
a screen shot of the software application as you prompt them for the next step.
If you plan to have participants use the annotation tools to participate in the learning
process, make sure that everyone is comfortable with how to annotate. It would be
good to review the tools at the beginning of the virtual classroom session.
