Page 164 - Taming Your Gremlin A Surprisingly Simple Method for Getting Out of Your Own Way (Rick Carson)_Neat
P. 164
As you learn to tame your gremlin and to tap into and enjoy your
experience of the natural you, you are going to become increasingly able to
detect what configurations of props and players make it easier for you to tap
into that love. With your gremlin out of the way, the natural you will guide
you toward experiences that stimulate the love and away from experiences
that don’t. The true love within you can help you select whom to hang out
with, what props and players to surround yourself with, and what activities
to engage in.
The experience of true love differs from the experience of excitement,
sexual feeling, adoration, or desire, though these pleasurable sensations
increase in lip-smacking intensity when laced with or founded upon true
love. Pleasurable stimulation can be thrilling; ask your taste buds or your
genitals. But even a first-class titillating tingle remains only pleasurable
stimulation until you are awakened to the experience of true love lying in a
half-sleep behind your heart. Add to that pleasurable stimulation one small
full-bodied drop of pure love, and you’re in for a real treat.
True love is not an emotion, but it underlies many emotions. True love
is more fundamental than emotion. True love is not a wave; true love is the
water. It provides you with more than gratifying stimulation. True love
fulfills you.
