On 21-02-2007 a litter of 8 puppies, 6 bitches and 2 dogs, were
born to my Ellie (Martellkees A Love Affair for Ricara) by Ffyniant
Sugardaddy Allforus; a repeat mating. The first litter had
produced Ricara Italian Sweetheart who had won 2CC's and 3
RCC's. I had a puppy enquiry from Lars Hovgaard in Denmark
and on investigation discovered he had previously had a bitch
puppy from David Matthews who assured me this would be an
excellent home so arrangements were made and many photos
and videos flew backwards and forwards. In due course Lars and
Annette drove across and collected their puppy and so began a
lovely friendship.
Eventually Nanna (Ricara Mary Poppins), became a Danish
Champion and was mated to Nordic Champion Unda Marina My
Funny Valentine and it was arranged I would be able to pick a
dog puppy from the expected litter. The puppies were due around
the date of Crufts and Lars would be exhibiting so Annette would
be in charge of the maternity ward. Of course Nanna decided the
day of Crufts was the very best time to have her babies and gave
birth to 6 lovely babies ALL BOYS; you would have thought she
could have managed at least one girl for Lars.

The weeks went by and after many photos and Skype calls I chose
the purple puppy who I named Rio. Lars showed him at his first
show and he was awarded Best Puppy.
