The Jerk-Ease. Living in the country I mainly walk
my dogs on Flexi leads and have always disliked how
they jerk both the dog and myself on reaching the
end of the tape run. This super thick elastic lead-end
is perfect to absorb the shock for us both and does
not catch the fur like metal spring ones. It’s also
more durable than other elastic ones I’ve tried. So
far Amazon UK can only get it over from the USA so
it’s not cheap but worth every penny to me.
PVC electrical tape and cotton rich baby socks.
If a Keesie has a sore paw, torn nail, cut pad etc.
that needs to be kept clean and free from being licked
this combo has proved invaluable for inside the
house. The smallest socks are the right size and just
one complete ring of PVC tape holds them on
perfectly and, being stretchy, can be loosened with
just a pull - obviously make sure you can slip a finger
down inside to check it’s not too tight.
The Leuchte. A thick firm glow collar with a bright
continuous steady glow when the weight hangs down.
Uses two AAA batteries that last for ages. There’s a
choice of colours; I’ve had mine over 15 yrs. Can be
seen clearly through Keesie fur but also helps older
dogs with failing eyesight see better in the dark.
Lot’s of other makes about but please avoid flashing
collars as they must be horrible for dogs - imagine
yourself having to wear a flashing head torch!

Halti Training Lead size large - 2m. I just love
these. They are soft to hold and with all the different
sewn in loops they can be used in a multitude of
ways; long, short or even hooked around your waist
for hands-free walking or holding a Flexi on. Not the
very cheapest lead on the market but mine appear
to be indestructible so you should only need to buy
once.

Large smooth rounded pebble. Quite simply,
placed in the middle of your Keesie’s food bowl I find
this stops the gulpers amongst our breed eating their
food too quickly far better than the special plastic
contoured bowls you can buy. It’s nice and easy to
keep clean too and obviously can be used in any bowl
of your choice.
