When our young daughter Sally died from leukaemia in 1981 we
continued with our fundraising efforts for Leukaemia Research.
Sally's school teacher, Ruth, always supported us at our Christmas
Coffee Mornings and Summer Sherry Evenings.
On one of her visits she had the pleasure of meeting our first litter
of Keeshond puppies. Having a dog of her own, (not a Keesie), Ruth
was enthralled by these beautiful little furry bundles of delight -
so much so, that she told her hairdresser about them. (Well you
would, wouldn't you?!) Unbelievably, her hairdresser had another
client, Rose, who also had a KEESHOND! The hairdresser was
equally excited and couldn't wait to tell Rose about our puppies.
Rose couldn't believe it. Nor could we. Another Keeshond in Crosby!
Rose lost no time at all in getting in touch with us.
"Please can we call and see the puppies?"
            "Of course you can, anytime."
            "Would now be convenient?"
            "Certainly."
Rose and her young daughter came along, I think, with their minds
already made up. They would love to buy a puppy. Their dog -
Dutch, was getting on in years - a puppy would cheer him and would
perhaps lessen the sadness a little when it was time for Dutch to
            go.
They did buy a puppy and called her Keesha. They bought another
puppy from our second litter; called her Mandy. Mandy eventually
came back to live with us when Rose moved to Scotland to a house
which wasn't really suitable for Keesies. We have remained friends
throughout the years, once again, brought together by our Keesies.

                                                      Thank goodness for
                                                      Keesies, newsletters
                                                      and hairdresser's!!!
