The Power of Surfing Sisterhood!
Another well-attended Big Wednesday event on Many interesting women’s surf issues were brought

found inspiration in Jim

hensive “Women on
Waves”, and her book
further explores the
evolution of female
surfers, blending
tales of Hawaiian
legends with inter- Mindy was thrilled to finally meet Linda Benson,

2023 Gala Honors Duke Kahanamoku’s 1965 Surf Team!
In 1965, Duke Kahanamoku tapped four of the world’s best surfers to assist him as ambassadors of surfing to
the world: Joey Cabell, Fred Hemmings, Paul Strauch, Jr, and Butch Van Artsdalen. These four
gentlemen have been named 2023’s Silver Surfers and they will be honored at CSM’s annual Gala held at the
Cape Rey Resort in Carlsbad on November 4. Mark your calendar now! You can read all about this year’s
