20 Slips Trips and Remove the 5th wheel safety clip and then pull and secure the 5th release handle
Falls Enter the vehicle again with 3 points of contact

21 Slips Trips and Drive forward a short distance and STOP with the fifth wheel still under the trailer. Lower
Falls the air suspension then drive out from under the trailer.

Note. After driving away from the trailer remember to level the air suspension on the unit
Apply the handbrake, turn off the engine and exit the cab with 3 points of contact then
close and lock the door

COUPLING OF TRAILERS (Normal)

22 Slips Trips and Reverse up to the trailer and directly in line with the trailer headboard then stop short.
Falls Note. Apply the vehicle handbrake, turn off the engine off, and use 3 points on contact to
climb out of the cab, close the door and ensure you are wearing the correct PPE

Note. It is extremely important that the trailer brake is checked and in an on (pulled) position at this point

Check the height of the 5th wheel in relation to the trailer height and adjust its height if necessary. Lower the
5th wheel below the trailer. Check for enough grease on the 5th wheel. Check the 5th wheel locking handle is
pulled out and the safety clip is easily accessible

23 Slips Trips and Reverse under the trailer and stop short of the trailer pin. Now lift the air suspension so
Falls that the legs just clear the ground and then reverse back onto the trailer pin until you
hear an audible lock.
