Doing God’s will requires that you talk and listen to others.
Makes sense, right? God has placed you into a church, a
body of believers, and fellowship means that you walk with them
through life.
No follower of Jesus can make the best decisions by walking alone.
And you don’t have to walk alone since you have a family of followers to
walk with through the journey. This family becomes a part of your story.
Consider the following verses…
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who prom-
ised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another
on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as
some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all
the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:23-25).
“Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ” (Ephesians 5:21).
“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every
respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. From
him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting
ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its
work” (Ephesians 4:15-16).
Have you ever sought advice before making a big decision? How well
did that go? Did you listen? Was it difficult? Write a few sentences below
describing a time when you asked for advice and the results.
