AN ENDLESS DAY
“James, wake up. Breakfast is ready and your
phone's been ringing off the hook.” said James'
mother.
“Hi mum.” James woke up and immediately
felt a terrible pain in his chest. He was surprised to
discover a healed wound, a surprising wound
because he had no memory of having been injured
recently. Except in this intriguing dream he had had
last night. But no, it wasn't possible, the wounds you
get in a dream don't stay when you wake up. But was
it really a dream? Everything had seemed so real to
him, the party, the forest and... his death. He was so
absorbed in his thoughts that he almost didn't hear
his phone ring. When he saw the name of the person
calling him, his heart leapt. It was Kate, the girl he
loved above all else.
“Hi James, I'm having a party today, do you want to
come?”
“Oh... great, thanks. When do I...”
