Later that day Thomas came to James' house.
He had refused to go to Kate's party when he heard
James wasn't going. They decided to go for a walk to
take their minds off it. Thomas was James's age, his
short dark hair, casual demeanor and natural
elegance were eye-catching. Unlike James he was
more thoughtful and only spoke when he was sure of
himself. Thomas tended to focus on his interests
while James was generous. Their differences
complemented each other, together they were a cool,
intelligent and attractive duo.

Their walk took them to the street where
Kate's house was, from which many people came out.
This seemed to be the end of the party. When the two
friends noticed where they were, someone called out
to them. It was Kate, when James saw her a hot flush
rose up inside him, how could anyone not admire
such a girl, her beautifully shaped silhouette cut out
in the light, her golden hair flying in the wind, her
pale skin giving her a luminous look. When James'
eyes crossed his gaze, James could not shake off those
beautiful green eyes. Kate was a model girl, her
character, intelligence and kindness were beyond
reproach. Generous and caring, it was difficult to find
a flaw in her. James was overjoyed when she told
