become livid. They heard the sound of struggle and
               knocking,  and  Thomas'  voice  rose:  “It's  all  right,  I
               killed him, we're safe! "

                      They all went outside and were surprised to
               see that what had caused that threatening crackling
               sound was actually a bird. James had never seen such
               a  beautiful  and  elegant  bird.  It  was  the  size  of  a
               turkey, its red and gold plumage sparkling. This inert
               body  still  radiated  a  warm,  soothing  aura.  How
               could something that looked so pure and beautiful
               die?  James  could  no  longer  bear  the  terrible  sight
               before his eyes, he looked away and saw that Kate
               had tears in her eyes.

               “Why did you kill it ?!” she exclaimed.

               “How was I supposed to know it was harmless? I was
               just as scared as you were! Now it's too late, I'm sorry,
               come on, let's get on with it.” Although Thomas wore
               an  expression  of  sadness  on  his  face  when  he
               answered  Kate,  James  noticed  that  his  gaze  had
               remained cold and indifferent, what was going on?
               James had never seen his friend like this before.

                      They went deep into the forest, now the trees
               were so close together that everything had gone dark.
               The  deeper  they  went  into  the  darkness,  the  more
