ATTENDANCE POLICY and PROCEDURE
(HRMemo no. 1 s.2019)
POLICY:
The following policy will govern all personnel’s attendance for regular, probationary, and part-time teaching and non-teaching personnel.
Unscheduled absences, tardiness, and undertime log-in/out violations will result in progressive corrective action, up to and including discharge.
Absences or tardiness due to approved Medical Leave, Service Incentive Leave, bereavement, and any other approved absences are not subject to the
requirements of this policy.
PURPOSE:
Our teaching and non-teaching personnel are essential to the delivery of quality education to students. Consistent with our Value of
Excellence and our Standards of Behavior, employees have the responsibility to report to work consistent with their commitment and on time. In
addition, ICC must ensure that daily staffing is predictable and consistent, in the best interests of our students and employees and in order to support
efficient operations.
Unscheduled absences, late arrivals and early departures, and log-in/out violations interfere with the effective delivery of quality education
and efficient operations and must be kept to a reasonable minimum.
Responsibilities of the Concerned Departments and Offices:
1. All department heads, unit heads and supervisors are instructed to disseminate, orient and implement this policy to their respective staff. It is to
be emphasized that, as they have the primary jurisdiction over their staff, they shall monitor the daily whereabouts and attendance behaviors of
their subordinates.
2. Likewise, all employees have the primary responsibility to know and to comply with all the existing school policies.
3. The HRDM Office shall monitor the monthly attendance of the employees based on the verified/validated/signed Daily Time Records (DTRs)
entered and signed by the employee. Likewise, the HRDM Office shall submit a report of attendance infractions to the department heads, unit
heads and supervisors, if any, for appropriate action.
I. Specific Attendance Policies
Teaching and non-teaching personnel are responsible to:
1. Be at work in accordance with respective work schedules. All officials and employees shall render not less than eight (8) hours of work a day
for five (5) days for a total of forty (40) hours a week, exclusive of time for lunch. This number of hours or even beyond, when circumstances so
warrant, is required from all school officials or employees who are appointed to positions to perform specific functions, duties and responsibilities
to serve our stakeholders.
2. Maintain good health standards.
a. Take precautions against illness or accident.
b. Prevent minor indispositions which would prevent you from reporting to work.
c. See medical attention when necessary to maintain good health, in off-duty hours. The school physician is available every
Tuesday afternoon for your health concerns.
