Why is it so important for girls to make a career?

In the last six years, thousands of girls have shared with me the

various problems that they face. I am going to highlight them in this
chapter.

This chapter is specifically dedicated to women power.

India is a country where we worship goddess’ like Maha Kali, Durga
and the Goddess of wealth- Mahalaxmi. But we as a society fail
when it comes to giving respect and honor to women. If we look
around us, we can see the real plight of women in this country.
Women have always been tortured and suppressed in our country.
Even today girls and boys do not get equal treatment. Girls are in
fact treated as a burden. Even in the most advanced and modern
family, parents feel much satisfied and happy if they are blessed with
a male child. People say that the society is changing, but is the
society changing at a pace at which it should change?

If the society takes another 50 years to change into a better world,
does that mean girls will have to wait for fifty more years and
sacrifice their present lives?
