We will first talk about the pressure of marriage on girls. The boys
are also made to go through such demands, but it is often much
more for the girls. They are given an age-limit before which they

have to make their careers, otherwise they would be married off.
When do you have to marry, with whom or how, even do you have
get married or not has to be entirely your decision. You do not have
to worry about the fact that your decision will hurt your family’s
sentiments. It is their selfishness that they want you to spend your
life according to their wish. Their wish is not your command. If they
truly care about you, they would want you to pursue your happiness.
In fact, marriage is one decision which will change the direction of

your life. Only you should take such an important decision of your
life. Your family wants to marry you off so soon because they think of
you as a burden. You are not your burden. You do not have to come
under any kind of pressure. And if you feel any kind of tension
because of this, you must leave the house for some time; move in

with one of your friends so that you would not have to listen to taunts
related to your marriage each and every day, and thus you would be

You are already going through intense pressure with the kind of
competition that is there in the market, and then to know that you

have only a limited amount of time to build your career, can further
push you into depression. If you're not able to handle the tension
then you can prepare for a competitive exam while doing a small job
in some other city. There are so many options available right now
through which you can earn money from home. Opportunities such
as blogging, search engine optimization, graphics, content writing,

translation, social media management et cetera are knocking at your
door. Widen your horizons and transcend your boundaries. But you
do not have to surrender to the narrative of limited time thrusted
upon you by your family. You must always remember what Swami
Vivekananda said: “when there is a battle between the mind and the
heart, you should always listen to the heart”. You must also never
think that your husband should be more educated than you or should
