Chapter 21
Mental Stress
Why does a student have to go through so much of stress?
Usually there is no specific reason for any kind of tension; it is
generated only by fictional circumstances or conditions. But then
why do we waste so much of time thinking about imaginary or
fictional circumstances?
This is something which is very specific to the mind, and everyone
goes through this. Our mind tends to get tensed by making us
imagine dangerous fictional circumstances. Taking too much stress,
may lead to something more serious, such as blood pressure,
depression, and several diseases affecting the heart as well as the
brain.
Tension is something that keeps our mind busy. If you remain tensed
throughout the day, you will feel like you are doing a lot of thinking,
but in reality, the output will remain zero. Lack of patience is one of
the reasons behind having tension; we want everything instantly.
First of all, we burden our existence with unrealistically high
expectations and then get stressed out when we cannot meet our
expectations. But by being patient, we can get rid of all kind of
tension—the way rainfall ends all dryness of the soil.
