said at this minute mark in the video, is it correct? Because as much
as I can remember you had taught something else in the previous
videos. Can you please guide me here?” and “Sir, I think the answer
which I have given is the right answer. But if I am wrong would you
please be kind enough to let me know?”
Type 2: “You are teaching something wrong; Why are you teaching
something wrong? This is the right answer for this question.”
“Sir, the answer that you have given us is completely wrong. Who
asked you to become a teacher? You will make the students write
wrong answers in the examinations!”
“Sir, what are you doing? I will get negative marks in the exam
because of this.”
By reading the responses mentioned above you can figure out what
is the difference between the students in the two categories. Those
in the first category are polite, they know that the teacher is also a
human, and he can also make mistakes. He did not say anything
wrong deliberately; it is possible that little mistakes were made
unintentionally, but that is not a big deal.
The students in the second category are egoistic; they want to show
off their knowledge and humiliate the teacher by using rude words.
The little mistake of the teacher is perceived by these students as a
criminal act. The way we speak and the words we use define us as
an individual. The Persian poet Rumi said, “The words we speak
become the house we live in.”
The way these ‘type 2’ students speak and the words they use,
makes us understand the kind of person they are in real life.
A student belonging to this type 2 category is definitely a defeated,
frustrated, disappointed person with a wrong attitude.
If you are going to attend a class (online or offline), it means that you
already know that the person who is teaching you knows more than
you. But when you start behaving as his teacher, who are you trying
to fool? I am not saying that a teacher cannot make mistakes, but to
make fun of a teacher's mistake tells a lot about your attitude in life.
