change coming in, he left everything on fate, and everything
remained as it is. There was no progress.
The younger brother was also very excited about setting up a food
stall. He also started thinking about it. He thought about visiting the
city and finding an appropriate location to set up a shop. He went to
the city. In the city he found a temple and he noticed that there were
no food stalls in the vicinity of the temple. He saw a ray of hope. He
started thinking that this is the best place for his shop. But he had
one fear: whether he would be able to cook the dishes by himself?
He tried making Pav Bhaji at his own home and fed it to his wife—he
had not cooked it very well. He made it again, and in a period of 3 to
4 days he was able to make delicious pav-bhaji. He developed
confidence within himself, and he thought that he would be able to
do it. He sold his wife’s jewelry and gathered some money. He used
the money to buy all the necessary things required to set up his
shop. In a matter of only a few days, his shop started getting a lot of
customers.
Now, what was the difference between the two brothers? The two
were motivated by the friend’s words, but differently.
Both the brothers were very excited about the new idea, both were
equally motivated by the friend’s suggestion, but only till the gyan-
yogi level. The younger brother became a karma-yogi as well as a
gyan-yogi. The motivation which he got after doing the karma was a
permanent and deep one.
But did the younger brother not get negative thoughts too? Was he
not afraid of failure? Was he not worried about his future? He must
have felt doubtful and uncertain about everything but he chose to
keep walking.
The consciousness and energy that comes from being a karma-yogi
kills all the negative thoughts. When a person gets this level of
consciousness, he does not rest till the time he has finished the
work. It is, as if the person has a volcano within him, which is
desperate to explode. He gets a kind of energy that is infinite.
