Objective #2:

Conditions: Given a Model 5 computer, standard tool and
spares kits, a VOM, and at least one symptom
of malfunction,

Action: Clear the malfunction.

Criteria: Computer is returned to normal operation
and functions within specifications.

There is no cosmetic or structural damage to
the computer or surrounding area.

All paperwork is correctly completed.

Test Items:

1. Draw a block diagram of the Model 5 computer.

2. Explain how you would troubleshoot a Model 5 com-
puter.

3. List the five most common troubles that happen to the
Model 5 computer, and check those that are operator-
induced.

✓ 4. The Model 5 computer in room 156 will not boot. Use
the tools and spares that are in the room to clear the
trouble. When you are finished, complete the Standard
Trouble Call Report in the envelope labeled “STCR.”
