Hancheon Yang Sang-cheol is an innovator who has carried out
bold experiments on formality by fusing the materials of Oriental and Western art for the vitality of calligraphy with the
times. The elements of color, which seem to have been improvised and represented without purpose in Hancheon’s
experiments, will form a world of meaning in the numerous associations and organic forms produced by nature.
It is believed that the symbols and letters of ancient Northeast Asia, which he continues to study, will have motility,
space, and form in his architectural imagination, creating a cosmic architecture. An omnidirectional architecture that
creates a new formality of calligraphy depends on his experiments and explorations with tradition.
