We know starting nursery can be an emotional time for both
parents and children and we aim to make this period as stress
free as possible. freedom &

Settling In Visits

Children are invited to visit our woodland nursery with
their parent / guardian to meet the staff prior to their
official first day.

The proposed day / time should be agreed with the
nursery manager prior to your visit.

Visits are free of charge.
We strongly advise parents to leave their child with the

staff at Wonder Woods for 2 short sessions (around 1.5
hours) prior to their first full stay to support the transition.

What To Expect

We want to make sure your child feels happy and excited
before leaving and will spend lots of time getting to know
them!

Parents / guardians may ask any questions they have
and may discuss any sleeping and / or eating habits

their child may have.
Your child will be shown around the site by a member of

staff and introduced to other children.
They will be shown where to hang their coats and bags,

where they can nap, and where to go to the toilet.
Learning through play can be hard work, and there will

be a chance for a rest in one of our cosy relaxation
areas.

You may wish to stay a little while to see that your child is
settled before leaving, although this is at your discretion

and is often discouraged as it may prolong the

challenge of leaving.
