8. Policies and Procedures
Key Policy Summary
Child Protection
As the policy title says this policy is here for the protection of all
children. We work closely with other agencies and professionals:
such as, teachers, health visitors, nursery staff and social workers.
Should we at any point have a concern or worry about any child we will consult
other professionals to ensure the safety and welfare of any and all children. A
requirement of our regulator, the Care Inspectorate, is we notify them of this
referral via their eforms system. A full copy of our policy is available on request.

Complaints
We take immense pride in the work we do. That said, we are human and know on
occasions we may make a mistake or get it wrong for you. If we do get it wrong,
please tell us. This is how we improve and learn. Just speak to any one of our staff
team. Should you not feel comfortable speaking to someone you can email our
Manager: stacey@playworks.org.uk alternatively email our Operations Manager:
simon@playworks.org.uk. You, of course, can also contact our regulator, the Care
Inspectorate on 0345 600 9527.
Medication
Children may require medication to be administered. Medication may be
administered short term to treat a specific condition (such as finishing a course
of antibiotics), long term (to treat conditions such as asthma), or in an
emergency (to treat conditions such as epilepsy). It is important that medication
issues are included in any overall assessment of the child's needs, and that
appropriate support with medication is included in care plans.
Our Medication Policy and the Care Inspectorate – Management of Medication in
Daycare of Children document gives guidance on administration, storage and
record keeping.
